In July 2014, Guild began constructing a new state-of-the-art factory in Southern California where the first order of business was to search the globe for original molds, equipment and rare Guild guitars. Machinery was shipped from the previous factory in New Hartford, CT and retro-fitted into the new production line. Ren Ferguson, legendary luthier, was named VP of Manufacturing and R&D. Ren’s history with Guild (notably his Guild Orpheum Series) combined with many years of excellent guitar building made him the perfect visionary to set up and design Guild’s new factory.

Guild is excited to ring in a new era of USA production. Interpreting classic Guild designs through an innovative approach and use of modern technology, these guitars feel and sound better than ever and are Made to be Played.

The ultimate Guild jumbo is here... the F-55 Maple, featuring a tight grained solid Sitka spruce top with arched flamed maple back and maple sides. Created on the same arch press that’s been a part of Guild manufacturing since 1985, the F-55 Maple provides sharply focused trebles and an articulate mid-range, perfect for a full, centralized, harp-like sound. Performers have long revered maple for its ability to sing over a crowded room and resist the feedback problems of boomier, bassier tonewoods, and the F-55 Maple does not disappoint. Elegant cosmetic appointments include classic Guild “V-block” inlays, gold Gotoh hardware, and a beautiful Nitrocellulose lacquer finish. Exceptional build quality and premium specifications make it a worthy heir to the historic Guild jumbo legacy. Available in Natural or Antique Burst finish , including the LR Baggs Anthem Electronics.
